Ukrainian people are great , unless you can't speak their language , or can't speak it very well , because most of the time you can face people staring at you with a judgmental look/attitude if u aren't dressed good or something of the sort . But once you start speaking Russian/Ukrainian new doors open , it's like they start viewing you from a different perspective. PS: i don't know if this makes any sense ?, but this was my experience of 3-4 years here in Kharkiv, it may be different for you , but this is how it has been for me . ❤stay safe everyone ❤
Good job on this video, Pete! I have seen other people's videos of Kharkiv already but you gave me a much deeper appreciation of its people, thanks dude!
„That’s what she said” ? I ve been in Kharkiev in February. Great and beautiful city. We already bought flight tickets there once again for the beginning of 2021! Cheers to Ukraine ??

Odessa is the sex trafficking capital of Europe, please be wary if travelling with young women.
Many ukrainians wear a crucifix but this is purely symbolic.
Ukrainians morals and values are easily forgotten if they can make a buck.
Many former ukrainians under the Soviet regime will use their education to arm fanatical regimes like North Korea archaic Soviet Tech, but still capable of mass death.
Maybe because its right next to Russia all the way across Ukraine I'm thinking, But its a nice city and a few nice French Restaurants and the KGB building of course.. Cool City and as usual intelligent beautiful Ladies…
The battle of Kharkov was fought in WW2. A huge battle for the city. Would be fascinating to see the battle field. I loved seeing the Hare Krishnas, too!
Very nice, this is the second of your's I have watched. Didn't expect a young white guy to cover the parks and architecture. Impressed by the number of children present in your video. Are they residents or tourists?
Your video changed my opinion about Ukraine and its people. I got used to hear bad stereotypes about Ukrainian. The main criticisms I've been told were they are xenophobic and grumpy; but they look like friendly, educated and open-minded. Thanks for the lesson.
Who build all of those less old buildings? Who maintained and rebuilt all of those older ones and cathedrals after World War 2? Who made all of those beautiful metros? The universeties? Who made those presumably, formely royal parks available to the public? The Soviets! Never forget that!
The Soviet Union did nothing wrong! There I said it! Fite me!
True. I can agree with all the points you made in this video. I was twice in Kharkiv this year and I have been many times to other Ukrainian cities over the years. It is my favorite country so far.

That opera house with masses of concrete is brutalism, the same ugly style that is ruining America.
That stupid McDonald's just ruins the entire look of the city.
The architecture is pretty unstylish. They lack an Italian freshness.
Crazy how ?? Ukraine is THE poorest nation in Europe.

First of all thanks to Peter. For everybody who want to know more about Ukraine read the following article from prof. and historian Timothy Snyder, specializing in the history of Central and Eastern Europe:
Engl. «Edge of Europe, End of Europe»: https://www.nybooks.com/daily/2015/07/21/ukraine-kharkiv-edge-of-europe/
German «Europas Kante, Europas Ende»: http://de.euromaidanpress.com/2015/07/24/europas-kante-europas-ende-von-timothy-snyder/
A good advice from a scandinavian man… ; Just dont let the muslims invade your wonderful country …
Thanks for your videos Peter,
Intelligent comments!
